About me:
After finishing my fine arts degree, I followed my passion for psychology, brain science and understanding human behaviour. Since then, I have studied and worked in a variety of settings including adolescent mental health, homelessness and justice, cancer support organisations and private practice. I enjoy fusing science and evidence-based approaches with creativity and individuality.
How I will help you:
I aim to help people work with, and not against their thoughts, emotions and behaviours. I often find that once we learn how to accept uncomfortable emotions and meet our whole selves, we can begin to experience the fullness of our lives.
I approach difficulties with a holistic lens and being mindful of the impacts of emotions and thoughts on our mind and body. I use approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy, body-based mindfulness strategies and narrative therapy in order to address concerns.
I understand the importance of developing a warm, nurturing therapeutic relationship in order to challenge, confront and understand unhelpful coping.
My three favourite things:
– I love plants and gardening
– I enjoy reading and writing poetry
– I have a greyhound and a cat who love to snuggle
