About me

Hi, I’m Katherine, a Clinical Psychologist with experience supporting adolescents and adults across university clinics, community mental health services like headspace, and public hospital settings, including psycho-oncology. I’ve worked with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and identities, and have facilitated group therapy and mindfulness programs along the way. I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, sleep difficulties (including insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders), low self-esteem, and stress. I have a particular interest in helping people foster self-compassion and reconnect with what matters most to them.

How I will help you

In our work together, we’ll begin by exploring your goals and building a sense of safety and trust. My therapeutic style is gentle, warm, and collaborative. I aim to help you better understand unhelpful patterns — whether in thoughts, behaviours, or relationships — and begin shifting them with curiosity and kindness. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, schema-informed therapy, and CBT for Insomnia, always tailoring strategies to suit your needs. I believe that change begins with self-awareness and is sustained through self-compassion and connection.

When I’m not working

I love sharing good food and conversation with friends and family, exploring new places — whether it’s nature, travel, or a local gallery — and making time for yoga and mindfulness to stay grounded.

  • You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist at Seed Psychology. However, if you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. With a MHCP, you may be eligible for rebates on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. These sessions can be used at any psychology clinic of your choice. To access Medicare psychology rebates, book an appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. Most referrals begin with 6 sessions, with the option to access 4 more after a review. Referrals can also be provided by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.

  • Our client care team will support you through every step of getting started. They’ll take the time to understand your needs and preferences, then thoughtfully match you with a psychologist whose approach and availability align with what you’re looking for.

When matching you with a Psychologist, we consider:

    • The reason you’re seeking therapy
    • Your availability and preferred session times
    • Whether you’d like to attend in person or online
    • The therapeutic approaches most suited to your needs
    • Any other preferences you share with us
  • We understand that finding the right fit is important. Building a strong relationship with your psychologist can take time, but if at any point you feel the connection isn’t quite right, we’ll support you in transferring to someone new. Your well-being is always our priority.

  • Our experienced team of Psychologists offers warm, evidence-based support that’s collaborative, inclusive and grounded in genuine understanding. We provide individual, relationship or family therapy for a wide range of concerns. Additionally, we offer couples therapy, online therapy, psychological assessments (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Assessments), and workshops.

  • If you have extras cover, private health insurance may provide rebates. Check your individual policy for coverage and claiming options.
