Jemma Parnaby
About me
Hi, my name is Jemma – thank you for taking the time to read about me! I am a Psychologist with over 10 years experience supporting people through a wide range of mental health challenges across inpatient, community and private settings.
I strive to provide a space that is genuine, thoughtful and collaborative, where your lived experiences are recognised and respected. With curiosity and warmth at the heart of my work, I take the time to get to know your unique story, including your strengths, challenges and the things that matter most to you.
I believe healing begins when we meet ourselves with understanding rather than judgment. In therapy, my hope is that we create that safety together, so we can explore your experiences gently and move toward a life that feels more connected and fulfilling.
How I will help you
Over the years, what has stood out most to me is how meaningful a strong therapeutic relationship can be. In our sessions, my goal is to work alongside you to make sense of the patterns that show up in your life, understand what your emotions may be communicating, and build self-compassion in a way that feels real and achievable.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, as well as individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, behavioural challenges or difficulties related to identity and self-worth. When helpful, I draw from Schema Therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT and IFS-informed practice. These approaches can support us in exploring both present-day challenges and the long-held templates that may shape how you think, feel and relate to yourself and others.
When I’m not working
I love baking (but mainly the eating that comes after!), travelling, and spending time with my loved ones.

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist at Seed Psychology. However, if you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. With a MHCP, you may be eligible for rebates on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. These sessions can be used at any psychology clinic of your choice. To access Medicare psychology rebates, book an appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. Most referrals begin with 6 sessions, with the option to access 4 more after a review. Referrals can also be provided by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.
