Dr Owen Spear
About me
Hi, I’m Owen, a Senior Clinical Psychologist, couples therapist, and Board-Approved Supervisor here at Seed. I’ve worked with adults for over 10 years across a wide range of mental health settings, including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, and community organisations. I’ve also run hundreds of classes and workshops on topics like mindfulness, anxiety, and wellbeing, and continue to offer informal training for clinical psychology students. I support clients with concerns such as anxiety, OCD, stress, depression, and relationship challenges. I also have specialist training in couples therapy, and really enjoy helping people strengthen their relationships and communication.
How I will help you
I aim to make therapy feel approachable, collaborative, and genuinely helpful. We’ll take time to understand what’s going on for you, both in the present and in your past, and tailor our work to suit your needs. I draw on evidence-based approaches, offering both insight and practical strategies to help you feel more confident, balanced, and connected in your life.
When I’m not working
I love staying active, right now that means lots of bike riding and squash. I also enjoy creative projects, running my business, and exploring new cultures whenever I get the chance.

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist at Seed Psychology. However, if you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. With a MHCP, you may be eligible for rebates on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. These sessions can be used at any psychology clinic of your choice. To access Medicare psychology rebates, book an appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. Most referrals begin with 6 sessions, with the option to access 4 more after a review. Referrals can also be provided by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.
