About me

Hi, I’m Marc — a Psychologist with twenty years of experience supporting adults and adolescents across university settings, mental health services, and performance related settings, including high-performance sport. I have a Doctorate in Psychology (Sport & Exercise) and a strong interest in helping people navigate life’s challenges with resilience and purpose. I work with a wide range of issues and concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, existential concerns and sense of identity — particularly around sexual identity and LGBTI-related matters. I’m also passionate about performance psychology and have supported both recreational and elite athletes to optimise their performance.

How I will help you

In therapy, I aim to provide a warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore what’s going on in your life. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamically informed practices to help you better understand yourself, developing insights along the way into what’s keeping you stuck to allow you to move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Whether you’re working through emotional difficulties, life adjustments and transitions, or performance-related challenges, we’ll work together to uncover your strengths and develop strategies that align with your goals and values.

When I’m not working

I love to travel and discover new places, and I’m always on the lookout for great new eateries around Melbourne. I’m also an avid table tennis player and enjoy the balance and energy that sport brings to my life.

  • You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist at Seed Psychology. However, if you’d like to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. With a MHCP, you may be eligible for rebates on up to 10 sessions per calendar year. These sessions can be used at any psychology clinic of your choice. To access Medicare psychology rebates, book an appointment with your GP and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. Most referrals begin with 6 sessions, with the option to access 4 more after a review. Referrals can also be provided by a psychiatrist or paediatrician.

  • Our client care team will support you through every step of getting started. They’ll take the time to understand your needs and preferences, then thoughtfully match you with a psychologist whose approach and availability align with what you’re looking for.

When matching you with a Psychologist, we consider:

    • The reason you’re seeking therapy
    • Your availability and preferred session times
    • Whether you’d like to attend in person or online
    • The therapeutic approaches most suited to your needs
    • Any other preferences you share with us
  • We understand that finding the right fit is important. Building a strong relationship with your psychologist can take time, but if at any point you feel the connection isn’t quite right, we’ll support you in transferring to someone new. Your well-being is always our priority.

  • Our experienced team of Psychologists offers warm, evidence-based support that’s collaborative, inclusive and grounded in genuine understanding. We provide individual, relationship or family therapy for a wide range of concerns. Additionally, we offer couples therapy, online therapy, psychological assessments (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Assessments), and workshops.

  • If you have extras cover, private health insurance may provide rebates. Check your individual policy for coverage and claiming options.
